Certification: Requirements

The process of becoming a certified member of NAOAA will take the average person approximately 4 weeks (working an hour a day) and will cost $1600. Although there are no pre-requisites to taking this course, having some teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred.

Because our online course uses a web-based software program, you must have access to a computer with an Internet connection. Minimum hardware and software requirements are listed below.

Internet
  • Access to the Internet through a provider of your choice, such as AOL, Verizon, MSN, Earthlink, etc.
  • Internet Explorer 6 or higher or Netscape 4.X or higher
Software
Since our online courses are web-based, there is no need to install any special software on your computer in order to access a course. You will need the following software, however, to complete class requirements:
  • Word processing application, such as Microsoft Word
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader software ( free download )
  • Anti-virus software with current updates
NAOAA's web-based class and resources may be accessed from anywhere, as long as the computer you are using meets these minimum requirements.
