Certification:
NAOAA certification will provide our members with consistent standards for what constitutes LE equivalency and how real life experiences can be equated to academia/college credits. Our members will learn to develop a professional portfolio assessment system for PLA programs by better understanding the connection between experience and learning in assessing college-level learning gained from experience. After receiving their NAOAA certification, our members will offer more-in terms of their employment value-to their institutions. An NAOAA certification provides assurance and validity to employers regarding our members' skills. In fact, in the near future, as the value and credibility of PLA becomes more well-known, an NAOAA certification will change from being a plus on one's resume to becoming a main requirement for the position.
