Certification:

When you're certified by NAOAA, your ability to evaluate an applicant's life experiences and skills will be verified, thus providing further assurance of your expertise to your employer and students. Completion of the program's modules will earn you a certificate that validates you as a Prior Learning Assessor. Knowing and being able to apply the principles of PLA will allow you to perform your professional duties under the auspices and rock solid reputation of NAOAA.

As a PLA practitioner, you are performing a valuable service for your students: awarding them college credits for their work experience. A life experience degree awards people credit for what they've done and what they know. As we all know, there's no substitute for experience. Yet, a degree is considered an important part of one's resume by many employers. Thus, many colleges now offer Life Experience Degrees, having developed Prior Learning Programs to properly assess people who have the knowledge required for a university degree, but were unable to complete their education until now. Your crucial role is to validate their life's work and provide them with the college credits they so richly deserve. Your certification by NAOAA assures your students and applicants, as well as their potential employers, of your professional expertise and the validity of your assessment.
